Many people ask what is so unique about Prairie-girl Candles?
Prairie-girl Candles only uses chemical free beeswax. No additives are added to the wax to enhance its color or burning time, it is 100% pure Manitoba beeswax only purchased here in Manitoba year round.
I also only use essential oils for scenting of the candles, unlike most candles which are scented with a "fragrance". Fragrances are generally chemically engineered and combined with some oils. Using only essential oils allows Prairie-girl to continue to be natural and chemical free.
What scents can be made?
With many oil options and over 60 different essential oils in stock i can create almost any scent you are looking for or enjoy. Most essential oils are derived from the plant, leaves or petals. Not all scents people have as a favorite are available as not all scents are "real".
How can i create my own scent or candle?
We can discuss what your preferences are for aromas. Everyone has a different sense of smell and different likes. After a few questions i will be able to help blend your unique oil blend for the candle. Candles can be purchased readily made for your ease or a booking can be made for up to 8 people to come and enjoy mixing the oils and constructing the entire candle!! Prior to the booking date a form will be sent out for completion. Please contact for information and costs. **NOTE** At this time we are taking bookings to ensure everyone stays healthy and safe.
My candle is tunneling what do i do?
Generally what has happened can be a few issues. As in most candles if it is only burnt for a short period of time (1 hr or less) then extinguished a tunnel will form, so when re-lit it will continue to tunnel as the wax has no where to run evenly. Another issue could be the wick was trimmed to short, less than a 1/4" and is put out by the wax pool. Simply melt the wax around the wick and pour out the wax, allowing the wick to lengthen.
My candle will not stay lit.
What has happened is the wax pool was too large and hardened from the last burn and the new wick at the base will not be able to get exposed and catch. Simply melt some wax around the wick base and pour out a little - voila!
