It's finally here!! The days start off dewy and the birds are singing their songs in the early morning sunrise rays. Honestly as much as Manitoba has some beautiful winters I'm for sure a summer girl. When I first started out on my candle journey I did many many many outdoor markets to get my feet on the ground. Lots of learning, lots of early mornings stuffing my car full for set up and lots of friendly faces. That's one of the things I miss, seeing all the smiles at the markets. But for me I had to learn to place my time better. Between working full time as a paramedic, making my candles and doing markets it just became to much. I've learnt to pick and choose what works for me and my business. For this summer I won't be doing any outdoor markets or shows, I will be choosing to remain working diligently in my studio in the exchange and offering pick up or shipping for you. I've been blending and melting furiously! Designing new scents and finding or thrifting more super cool vintage glass to breath new life into. I absolutely love re using what is already produced so I can try to lower my carbon footprint in my small way. Not to worry until I come up with a new plan I will also remain with my classic tins and jars for those of you that like traditional style. Don't forget to give me a follow on Instagram! @prairiegirlcandles
Have a fab day, week, month and summer!! I don't know about you but this cold harsh winter is 100% making me want to hibernate. I keep wondering when spring is coming?? But in the mean time I took a little time after the mad holiday rush to develop some new blends. All while bundled up cozy in my favorite sweaters with candles burning around on me I mixed and matched some oils togeather and came up with 4 new blends.
Lavender Peppermint - Lavender infused with uplifting Peppermint. A marriage of two classic aromas! Lavender to give you all the relaxed & calm feelings then followed up with the sassiness of Peppermint - just enough to give you that little pep in your step and tackle anything! Chamomile Rose Howood & Ylang-ylang- that soft yet sweet hint of warm tea is chamomile, delicately balanced with soft rose picked up by and nuzzled by the everlasting strength & somewhat sweet oakiness of Howood & Ylang-ylang. Juniper Berry Rosewood Vetiver & Fir - Bold with feelings of whispy days all while oozing strength & sturdiness. This unique blend is not for the faint of heart. If you like full bodied aromas filled with warmth while you imagine lazing in the juniper bushes along the forest floors then go for it and let your imagination run wild. Sandalwood Pink Grapefruit Bergamot & Patchouli - so soft and subtle. This delicate blend is sure to make you want to be romantic & take in every moment with giggles dancing in the air. Each are known for their calming sensual influences. Why not spend a day lounging and holding hands. Anywhooo I hope you get a chance to try one of my new blends and get to stay warm while drift off into visions of your favorite times. As always friends - remember to stay cozy, happy and healthy. Big smiles & Pishshapmishko - J How are you??? What's new here? Welllll it's been a bit busy lately. Though I haven't done any in person markets this year because of stupid Covid you have all been keeping me on my toes. Recently I collaborated with Ricki's Canada for a custom line of candles now available on their website. 6 different blends some are your favorites I can never part with and some are brand new! You should go check them out! Keeping me busy is also the Shop WAG located in the beautiful Winnipeg Art Gallery - my custom blend 11oz glass jars with hide tops or my 4oz tin trios all made especially for Qaumajuq. Each paying homage to different indigenous words. But if you're looking for a variety of shopping head over to the Lucky girl POP UP page and you can find a variety of my candles and links nestled among so many other talented local business'. Hopefully soon I can see all those fun faces during some in person shopping!! Miss you all!! Stay healthy and safe.
